Job Description

Senior Career Advisor & Employer Specialist will serve as a resource in the career development process for college faculty, staff, students, and external community to create and administer program procedures, processes, goals, plans and programming for services that support career development, experiential learning, and employment. The Senior Career Advisor & Employer Specialist addresses and responds to the needs of the students, working closely with administration, faculty, staff, and employer partners to provide career and digital badging programming and career exploration and employment services.

The position addresses and researches best practices on career development and employer programming, develops and monitors a comprehensive assessment plan to ensure continuous improvement of activities, services, and trainings to meet the needs of all stakeholders. This position also provides leadership and direction for the hiring and training student employees and graduate interns in the department
Required Qualifications
  • Combination of professional level of work experience and education or, equivalent years of education in related fields such as Career Services, Career Development, Counseling, Advising, Program Development.
  • Ability to build strong relationships by seeking out, establishing, and nurturing new industry partnerships among various industries.
  • Knowledge with using occupation and labor market information in order to convey and advise others in an individual and group settings.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to interview students, accurately assess their needs and provide resources to address their needs with courtesy.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and organize tasks and follow through on activities.
  • Skills in drafting and writing reports.
  • Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of career development and workforce development.
  • Credentials to interpret career assessments such as Strong Inventory, Clifton Strengths, and Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

Salary Range: $22.94 – $33.30 hourly / $47,899 – $69,530 annual
