Job Description

Summary: Full-time, exempt, benefits eligible, non-classified, at-will staff position reporting to the VP of Student Services.

Salary: $50,000-$60,000 – Commensurate with education & experience.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

· Oversees the daily operations of the admissions unit as well as all staff, facilities, functional areas, and systems, including student workers.

· The position is a student facing position, requiring one-on-one or group support to students daily.

· Develops and directs processing, maintenance, and daily operations of admissions data and/or records system(s).

· Supports institutional student recruitment efforts by understanding the data stored in the student information systems database tables, and maintains the integrity of the data entered into the database.

· Ensures the efficiency of admission procedures by developing and maintaining procedure manuals for admission system users, coordinating informational updates with other administrative offices that use the admission system, and developing and managing enhanced admission services via technical tools.

· Provides leadership in the planning, development, and administration of an institution division in a manner that is consistent with the institution’s mission.

· Serves as a resource and guide to others in the department and/or institution in questions of admissions policy and procedural issues, precedents, etc.

· Coordinates the design and implementation of consistent communication through the admission process and throughout enrollment.

· Trains Student Success Peer Coaches to effectively communicate with potential students.

· Prepares various recruitment related reports as directed for analysis.

· Attend various on and off campus enrollment events and meetings as needed

· Keep current on trends, processes, and information related to admissions, such as FAFSA, enrollment trends, and more.

· May advise a caseload o.f new/first-time students

· Serves on committees as directed.

· Performs related duties as assigned or as directed.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in student personnel, management or closely related field and one to two (3-5) years of experience working in an administrative capacity; OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field and three to four (5-7) years of related administrative experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Licensure/Certification Required: None.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

· Ability to reason logically so as to effectively analyze and solve problems.

· Demonstrated strong managerial, organizational and personnel skills.

· Ability to define procedural problems, collect and evaluate data, draw conclusions and makeappropriate recommendations

· Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective workingrelationships.

· Ability to speak and write effectively and to develop reports.

· Demonstrated ability to speak in public before groups of various sizes and in meetings and committees.

· Ability to work independently, with a minimum of direction and under broad guidelines.

· Solid familiarity with and ability to effectively utilize a personal computer and various software packages.

· Ability to make decisions with regard to release of sensitive information combined with thedemonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all areas.

· Ability to multitask and to handle several competing priorities at one time.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare written materials and tocommunicate clearly and concisely with broad and diverse groups of individuals.

· Abilityto work with diverse constituencies.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Physical/Work Demands: Work is typically performed in a normal office environment; some duties may require lifting and carrying boxes of materials/supplies, traveling to different locations/sites, climbing stairs and near-constant use of computer.
