The Department of Chemistry at the University of Florida is a comprehensive department granting bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees with specialization in all areas, including biochemistry, nanochemistry, analytical, inorganic, organic, physical, polymer, synthetic and theoretical chemistry. The successful applicant will become a part of a cooperative, creative, and energetic community of researchers from various races, cultures, and nationalities who are dedicated to high-quality research, teaching, and service.

Expected Salary:

The salary range is $56,000 - $65,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. in related fields

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in related fields including, but not limited to analytical chemistry, molecular biology, and biomedical engineering with 2 years of postdoctoral training and significant experience with molecular diagnosis of cancers. Applicants should also have a strong publication record, good spoken and written communication skills.

Desirable backgrounds/skills include:

  • Nucleic acid amplification techniques such as PCR and isothermal amplification,
  • CRISPR-Cas based technologies,
  • Microfluidics,
  • Point-of-care testing technology,
  • Cancer diagnostics,
  • Extracellular vesicles.
  • Epigenetics/Epitranscriptomics
