Job Description:

Post-Doctoral Affairs

Post-Doctoral Human Resource Support. Consults with UFHR on the direction and administration of employee benefits, employee relations, compensation & classification, departmental and college HR units, exchange visitor services, and other units as needed to assist postdocs. Responsible for postdoc policy creation and implementation and the resolution of related concerns.


Workshops and Programming. Designs, develops, and leads professional development programming, coaching, and career transition workshops for the UF Postdoc community, including postdoc development workshops, new Postdoc orientation, and research symposium. Works closely with Graduate School Professional Development on specific programs, Women Lead, Preparing Future Faculty, and a mentoring program.

Post-Doctoral Student Engagement. Serves in a leadership role for Postdoctoral Affairs Advisory Committee. Supports UF Postdoc Association, providing administration point of contact. Monitors and supports social media accounts, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

Funding and Endowment Support

Manages candidate selection committee, fellow expense approval, point of contact for awarded fellow, host department, and Ewel family.


Other Post-Doctoral support duties as assigned.

Prestigious Awards and Fellowships

Assessment and Compliance. Oversee all fellowship and award programs. Works with funding agencies to provide compliance and progress reports. Ensures graduate students and the Graduate School comply with funding agency regulations and requirements.

Workshops and Programming

Develops and leads prestigious fellowship and external funding programming on topics such as finding funding, proposal writing, and expectations.

Award and Fellowship Support. Reviews, evaluates and tracks applications for completeness and submission. Tracks and maintains records of awards. Establishes methods and conducts program assessment for professional development efforts. Initiates creative solutions to address areas of concern.

Award and Fellowship Database. Identifies, creates, and maintains resources for external funding and fellowships, including templates and proposal support databases, and shares with graduate community.

Other Graduate School support duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$69,600 - $85,000 annually 

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A doctoral degree and previous post-doctoral experience of 4 years or more. Experience in proposal development, or other sponsored projects. Experience developing and leading professional workshops and public speaking. Expert knowledge of issues of post-doctoral affairs, fellowships, and awards. Outstanding written and communication skills.

This is not a remote work position and it is located on the UF Main Campus in Gainesville, Florida.
