Cell and Developmental Biology and Advanced Imaging

Job Description

A post-doctoral position is available immediately in Dr. Chris Westlake’s laboratory, located in the Laboratory of Cell and Development Signaling, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health. Our group combines cell and developmental biological and advanced microscopy imaging approaches to understand disease and cancer mechanisms. These approaches are complemented using biochemistry/proteomics, biophysical, and genomics approaches and animal models (mouse, zebrafish, and frog). We offer excellent opportunities in advanced fluorescence and electron microscopy imaging and analysis; including super resolution SIM/STORM/STED microscopy, live cell spinning disk confocal, lattice light sheet microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. A newly acquired Elyra7 SIM2 microscope is available in the lab for super resolution live and fixed cell imaging (60-100nm resolution). Our group also uses volumetric electron microscopy (focused ion beam-scanning electron microscopy; FIB-SEM) and correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM).
