Job Summary

Directs and coordinates the implementation of the organization’s human resource policies, programs, and practices. Provides leadership and managerial direction for the college’s human resource departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance
• Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
• Communicates changes in the organization’s personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed
• Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization’s compensation and benefit program
• Coordinates, analyzes, or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations that may include follow up
• Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the COO, on personnel matter
• Works directly with department supervisors to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
• Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization
• Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization’s personnel information needs
• Supervises the staff of the human resource employee relations, professional development, benefits and compensation, and talent acquisition departments; ensures measurement and evaluation of human resource data is conducted
• Oversees the Human Resources department budget for salaries of full time and part time positions, office expenses, and travel
• Participates on committees and special projects and completes other duties as assigned
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Ten (10) years of experience in human resources

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential
• Seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in human resource practices in the field of higher education

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• Experience with computerized systems
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
