We are offering a great employment opportunity now. NeighborWorks Alaska is looking for a professional, committed, and compassionate Housing Support Specialist who understands the difficulties of moving from homelessness into adequate housing. You must have excellent social, oral, and verbal communication skills and real determination to help the less fortunate access housing resources. A BS/BA is preferred, previous experiences with administrative work, case management, and public programs, a plus. You must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.

Core Qualifications

· In-depth understanding of the challenges facing low-income families from psychosocial and economic perspectives and understanding issues related to HIV/AIDs, domestic violence, substance abuse, and homelessness.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills with timely follow-up with clients, participants, partners, and peers.

· Understanding and continued education of Fair Housing rules, the American with Disabilities Act, and tenant/landlord laws and regulations.

· Must be dependable and be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
