Have you ever wanted to work with a nonprofit that has lots of locations, and operates like an entrepreneurial Silicon Valley organization? That’s BGCP. As the largest expanded learning organization in the Peninsula, we are in the business of changing lives. We partner with schools and the community to ensure students from low-income neighborhoods not only graduate from high school but are ready for college and meaningful, life-changing careers.

To date, we have served over 4,000 K-12 students at over 20 sites from East Palo Alto to Menlo Park, Redwood City—and we’re still growing! We have a lot more lives to reach in our community and we hope you will be a part of our journey.

 


ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Associate Site Director at one of our school-based programs within one of the school districts that we serve, you will ensure a high-quality school-based expanded learning time program is delivered for all K-8 grade students, in collaboration with families, and school partners, every day after school during the academic year as well as during the summer program. You will coach and support instructors to build and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and school partners. You will collaborate with the School Site Director to ensure the program is implemented with fidelity and consistency and is driving school success outcomes for students.

 


What is the Employment Status of this Role?
Full-time, Exempt.

 


How Much Does this Role Pay?
The pay range is $60,000 - $75,000 depending on your experience.

Who Does This Role Report To?
This role reports to the School Site Director.

 


What are the Expected Work Hours and Schedule?

  • Five days a week. Monday through Friday

  • During the academic year, the afterschool program runs until 7 PM each evening

  • Weekly team meeting + additional professional development trainings

What You Will Be Doing In This Role:

  • Develop and monitor program and instructional plans, using data to inform decisions and programmatic strategies

  • Build relationships with and motivate K-8 students, fostering engagement and support.

  • Communicate with K-8 families regarding student performance, program participation, events, and activities

  • Collaborate with school staff to align programming, coordinate academic efforts, and support individual students

  • Ensure successful implementation of academic support components with the curriculum team and school-day teachers

  • Coordinate and implement enrichment offerings and social-emotional learning activities with the curriculum team

  • Provide necessary resources to instructors for curriculum implementation, including lesson plans and materials

  • Lead parent orientations and meetings, encouraging participation and involvement in school and BGCP events

  • Manage student enrollment and Salesforce database, generating membership data for reports

  • Maintain accurate filing systems for easy retrieval of information, both electronically and in hard copy

  • Assist site leadership team with purchases, reimbursements, and credit card reconciliation

  • Translate materials from English to Spanish (if capable), including activity flyers, program schedules, and parent communications

  • Commitment to BGCP’s mission and vision

  • Successful experience working with high school youth preferably on a high school campus

  • Personal commitment to helping at-risk youth graduate from high school ready for college and/or career

  • Ability to navigate complex high school systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills and youth development experience

  • Great organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Strong initiative, self-starter, intrinsically motivated, problem solver

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, education or related field

  • Spanish fluency preferred

To be part of the BGCP staff or volunteer community, you will be required to complete standard compliance steps that may include COVID-19 proof of vaccination, TB test, and LiveScan background check.
