Job Description

Anderson University (Indiana) seeks qualified applicants for the position of graduate assistant in the sport of Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving for the 2023-2024 academic year and re-appointment for future academic year(s).

Reports to Athletic Director and Head Swim & Dive Coach

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • 20 hours per week
  • Recruiting qualified student-athletes who are the "right fit" and desire a faith based educational experience
  • Use of recruiting software
  • Assist with all aspects of practice and meet preparation as assigned by the head coach
  • Monitoring student-athletes academic progress and conducting team study tables
  • Assisting with the day-to-day office operations and administrative tasks
  • and other duties as necessary or assigned

 


Job Requirements:

  • Qualified candidate will have a Bachelors degree; previous collegiate playing or coaching experience preferred
  • Commitment to University mission and Christian lifestyle
  • Admittance to program-authorized Master's* program at Anderson University
  • Complete and pass required background check
  • The graduate assistant must meet University lifestyle expectations, GPA requirements and work responsibilities to be reappointed for the next academic year
  • 10-month work period: August through May
  • 2-year Graduate Assistant program expectation

Benefits:

Tuition waiver for a Master's* Degree*; $5,500 per year stipend paid bi-weekly over 10 months. Graduate Assistants receive the remitted tuition benefit of 100%. This is a tuition waiver of up to $5,250 per year that is not taxable; tuition beyond this amount is taxable. Pre-requisite courses taken at Anderson University are covered by the tuition waiver. Program fees are the responsibility of the Graduate Assistant.

  • Falls School of Business: Professional MBA (2-yr); School of Theology & Christian Ministry: Master of Divinity (3-yr) or Master of Theological Studies (2-yr); School of Music, Theatre & Dance: Master of Music Ed. (2-yr)
