About Westchester Community College:
Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Westchester Community College is more than just the county's largest educational institution. The Receiving Department seeks a part-time incumbent to perform a variety of recurring light and heavy manual laboring activities including event setup, furniture moves, deliveries, etc. The incumbent will assist with the collection, sorting and disposal of recyclable materials. The incumbent may also use computer applications or other automated systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a high school or equivalency diploma is required. A NYS Driver's license is also required. The ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate effectively in English to perform the essential functions of the position is required. Initiative; industriousness in work performance; mechanical aptitude; and physical strength & agility are required. The physical condition will be commensurate with the demands of the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Forklift operation experience is a plus.
WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule will be 7 am to 3 pm, 4 days a week.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $13.25 per hour. No benefits.
