POSITION: ALLIED HEALTH SPECIALIST
12 Month Contract Full-time Instructional Staff Position
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Allied Health Specialist will both instruct in and coordinate the Allied Health program for the College. The Specialist will teach 24 credit hours of classes each academic year. The onsite and online teaching assignment will include MED102 Certified Nurse Aide, MED120 Medical Terminology, and/or other Allied Health courses as assigned. The Specialist will coordinate the Allied Health program, including all documentation and reports for state agencies. The position is responsible for student recruitment and advising, program development and division participation, committee and task force service, and individual professional development. QUALIFICATIONS: License to practice as a registered nurse in Kansas and have no pending or current disciplinary actions against that individual’s license; and a minimum of 2 years of full-time licensed nursing experience (RN or LPN) that includes a minimum of 1750 hours of licensed nursing experience in an adult care home or a long term care unit of a hospital; completed a course in adult education, professional continuing education offering on supervision or adult education or has experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides. Experience in college teaching is preferred.
LOCATION: Iola, Kansas Campus office location. Office hours are required of the position.
SALARY: BS/BA $40,165-$46,982; MS/MA $43,143-$49,960; based on education and experience. An excellent benefits package is available.
