Job Description: | The University of Florida’s Wildlife and Aquatic Veterinary Disease Laboratory and Cervidae Health Research Initiative is hiring a postdoctoral research associate to work on the characterization of emerging pathogens negatively impacting Florida wildlife and managed populations with an emphasis on white-tailed deer (e.g., epizootic hemorrhagic disease, bluetongue virus). The ideal candidate will have expertise in bioinformatics, including the analysis of metagenomic data (e.g., virome) and phylogenomic, statistics, and an interest in infectious disease research. The candidates will have a track record of publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals and strong communication and problem-solving skills. The successful applicant will be working with Dr. Kuttichantran Subramaniam in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Immunology. The position is full-time, with an anticipated starting date of August 2023. Duties:

Minimum Requirements: | Candidates will have a Ph.D. in a relevant field (virology, bioinformatics, computational biology, or molecular biology) |
