We are seeking a self-motivated postdoctoral scientist with a PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology or related discipline to join our dynamic research team at JBS Science Inc., located at the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, to develop urine-DNA based biomarker tests for the early detection of cancer. A background in the field of DNA biomarker assays, early detection of cancer and/or HBV/HCC is desirable.
Applicants must be authorized to work in US and have a strong background in molecular biology and have an interest in learning and applying new skills to advance ongoing programs.
Key Skills and Responsibilities include:
Performance of general molecular biological methods including DNA isolation, real-time PCR, DNA cloning, qPCR and NGS assay development and validation
Ability to conduct experiments independently and with minimal supervision. Analysis of experimental results and independent decision-making with guidance regarding experimental design.
Work in a highly collaborative manner.
Outstanding personal initiative and communication skills (oral and written English)
Train group members.
With guidance from the PrincipaL Investigators, produce scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and present research data in house and at scientific conferences. Write as well as assist in the preparation of applications for external grants for research and fellowships.
Experience working with next generation sequencing sample preparation is highly desirable. Experience in NGS data analysis/bioinformatics is a plus. Excellent knowledge of English language is a plus.
