We are seeking a creative and bold problem solver to help us lead the charge to achieve transformational command and control (C2) through distributed and decentralized decision-making. Agile and resilient decision-making is necessary for our C2 systems continuing to operate through disruptions during conflict with peer adversaries. Our insightful technological solutions will enable C2 in the complex and demanding environments faced by our Nation's warfighters.

 

As the Section Supervisor of the Decentralized and Distributed Decision Sciences section you will be an integral part of our group leadership team, forwarding thinking, and passionate about the exploration of innovative concepts. You will help ensure that our technical efforts remain aligned with our group mission. You will take ownership of concept development for resilient and distributed C2 solutions and the corresponding mission analytics needed for quantifying effectiveness.

 

As a Section Supervisor you will be responsible for...

  • Pro-actively transforming your team’s new ideas into funded efforts through partnerships with established programs, sponsor engagement activities, and internal investment opportunities including IR&D and innovation grants.
  • Developing concepts and algorithms for C2 decision-making in a distributed Force and the quantification of mission effectiveness through reduced order modeling and statistical techniques.
  • Recruiting outstanding talent and build a culture that embraces creativity, inclusion, and continual improvement.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

 

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, operations research, physics, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Have at least 4 years of system analytics and/or system optimization experience.
  • Have a working knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence for use in system analytics and/or deployed system operation.
  • Have demonstrated experience using statistical and analytical tools for understanding and improving system function or performance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time as needed.
  • Have 3+ years of experience leading teams of staff in technical projects.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

 

You will go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

 

  • Possess a Master or Doctorate in statistics, mathematics, computer science, operations research, physics, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Have demonstrated expertise in mission engineering, system engineering for resilience and robustness, especially as they apply to decision making structures.
  • Have interest and expertise in reduced order modeling techniques, explainable AI, or in the analysis of complex system behaviors
  • Have demonstrated the ability to build significant relationships across organizational boundaries.
  • Are skilled in influencing people within and outside your team through effective communication and professional empathy.
