Summary

Assist in coordinating accreditation and assessment activities; oversee CoE marketing activities; and, coordinate the optimal functioning and maintenance of all building properties. This position further serves as the college liaison with Facility and Planning Services, Safety Services, and the Office of the Provost for all construction, remediation, and capital projects. In addition, this position directly supervises CoE Purchasing Agent and CoE IT Technician . Additionally, this position works closely with the Dean's Council and Department Chairs in executing strategic plans and priorities as set forth by the Dean of the CoE. Oversee budgeting, purchasing, emergency response services, CoE IT support, and work studies and oversee service activities both day to day, long term, and off hours, when the need arises.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Work with departments and CoE leadership to prioritize investments in new equipment that match the academic and research requirements.

  2. Responsible for interviewing, supervision, management, training, evaluation, and oversight of CoE Purchasing Agent and CoE IT Technician.

  3. Coordinate all formal facilities operations and work with Facilities and Planning Services and the Office of Provost, including facility structural modifications, equipment replacements and upgrades.

  4. Interpret, implement and ensure compliance with university academic and administrative policies and procedures within the CoE, recommending new internal policies, guidelines and procedures where appropriate.

  5. Develop manuals, standard operating procedures, plans, policies, training materials, procedural documents and maintenance contracts for support staff as required.

  6. Schedule and facilitate building tours, as requested.

  7. Develop, coordinate, and operationalize safety and emergency response policies and practices.

  8. Under the direction of the Dean's Council, oversee the CoE budget, including all non-capital purchasing.

  9. Assist Associate Dean in coordinating programmatic accreditation activities and reporting on behalf of the CoE.

  10. Oversee programmatic assessment activities.

  11. Oversee and coordinate event planning on behalf of the CoE.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises Purchasing Agent, CoE IT Technician, and Student Workers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university (Master's degree preferred); and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
