Required:
1. must have earned at least a baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) 1
2. hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current WV state license
3. have a minimum of four (5) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
4. have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs
Preferred:
· Advanced computer skills
· Strong writing and communication skills in an academic setting
· Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
Certification / Licensure
Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current WV state license
Teaching Experience
Required

Job Purpose
The Respiratory Program Director will competently and efficiently manage (in coordination with the Academic Dean and/or Campus President) the training program to achieve desired outcomes/standards as set forth by the institution.
In this role, you will also work with a project manager to meet deadlines, while creating streamlined content in the areas above.
Responsibilities
· Retention: Meet or exceed program retention standards as set forth by the institution through:
o Academic and personal coaching to students
o Curriculum and course maintenance and enhancement
o Effective relationship building
o Attending retention meetings
· Certification/Licensure: Meet or exceed program (a) sit rate and (b) pass rate standards for certification exams as set forth by the institution through:
o Academic and personal coaching to students
o Curriculum and certification preparation course maintenance and enhancement
o Effective relationship building
o Attending certification meetings
· Externships: Effectively manage program externships through:
o Assisting with establishing and maintaining externship sites
o Assisting with the placement of students
o Setting expectations for, monitoring, and evaluating students on externship experience.
· General
o Teach classes
o Participate in meetings as directed
o Maintain an active and effective Program Advisory Board
o Participate in professional development and in-service activities
o Maintain an effective, and current Program Effectiveness Plan (PEP)
o Maintain the highest level of ethical and professional standard, including keeping apprised of and abiding by all institutional policies and procedures, accreditation standards, and state and federal laws, rules and regulations as pertains to the duties and responsibilities of this position.
