Summary

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a procedure that creates images of the body using radio waves in conjunction with extremely powerful magnets. This non-invasive technique relies on the magnetic properties of atoms, rather than the radiation used in many other imaging procedures.

Required Qualifications*

• Graduation from a school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
• Registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( ARRT ) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist ( ARMRIT ) is necessary.
• Must be able to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Must demonstrate an ability to learn new technical and operational processes and adapt well to changes.
• Candidate must be reliable, have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail skills
• Team oriented
• *MRI students may be considered if they are within 6 months of program completion and pass the registry within the first 6 months of employment post program completion.

Desired Qualifications*

• Minimum one year experience as an MRI technologist. 
• Recent hospital-based MRI experience. 
• Interest in continuing education presentations. 
• MRI advanced imaging and research interests.
• Epic experience

Nights and Weekends.

Wednesday/Thursday, 9p-7a. Friday,11p- 7am, and Saturday, 7p-7am.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

Application Deadline

Job openings are posted for a minimum of seven calendar days.  The review and selection process may begin as early as the eighth day after posting. This opening may be removed from posting boards and filled anytime after the minimum posting period has ended.

Vaccine Requirements

COVID-19 vaccinations are required for all students, faculty and staff working in the following areas: Michigan Medicine including the Medical School, Dental School, University Health Service or the Mary A.
