Post Doctoral Scholar

Highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to help develop the next generation of iVirus  tools and/or apply them to better understand viral roles in soils, oceans or humans in the Sullivan lab within the Department of Microbiology. The research would take place in the context of an intense training environment that is leading experimental and informatic innovation in studying environmental virus-host interactions, ecology and evolution. The researcher can also expect opportunities to gain experience organizing field research, giving presentations and writing proposals, as well as providing practical supervision of PhD and undergraduate students. The successful candidate will have peer-review documented (published papers) experience in application or development of informatic tools for analyzing large-scale datasets


Minimum Education Required
Doctorate (Academic) with a Major in microbiology
Required Qualifications Candidate needs to be experienced in genome-resolved metagenomics, with strong microbial metabolism expertise. Work will be computational.
