Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Senior Director and Training Director of CAPS, the Post Doctoral Fellow provides brief, time-limited psychotherapy related to issues of personal, academic, and social adjustment to a culturally diverse student population while under the supervision of licensed psychologists. The Post Doctoral Fellow is also responsible for crisis intervention, consultation, referral, outreach, and scheduled 24 hour emergency consultation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Brief time-limited individual psychotherapy and counseling, approximately 20-22 client hours per week
• Crisis intervention
• Designing and implementation of outreach programs and facilitation of support groups
• Supervision and training of practicum trainee
• Evening/Weekend on-call duty, approximately 4 weeks
• Consultation to University community (students/faculty/staff/family)
• University committee involvement
• Represent center at campus functions
• CAPS administrative and training program duties as assigned
• Participation in seminars and/other training program activities
• Participation in weekly Case Conference meeting
• Participation 4.5 hours/week of direct supervision with primary and/or delegated supervisor(s)
• Participation in weekly staff meeting
• Other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have an interest in working within the context of a diverse, Jesuit Catholic university located in an urban, multicultural area; completion of doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (by the start date of the fellowship); able to begin accumulating supervised postdoctoral hours toward licensure; completion of Doctoral level psychology internship(s).

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Preference will be given to those candidates who have completed an APA accredited internship and have clinical experience in college mental health, crisis intervention, brief therapy, outreach, and working with diverse student populations.
