Part Time Faculty Interest Pool - Addiction Counseling
Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in the Addictions Counseling Department at the Cascade Campus. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part-time faculty in this area.
We anticipate openings for Instructors teaching the following courses. Please review the course content for each by clicking on the course title. During the application process, you will be asked to specify which course(s) you are interested in being considered for.
AD103: Women and Addiction
AD106: Smoking Cessation
AD105: Aging and Addiction
Please note: This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the 2018-19 Academic Year.

All new instructors will have one of the following:
1. A Bachelors degree in counseling, psychology, human service, human development, sociology, social work or related discipline and be a current Certified Addiction Counselor Level II (or equivalent) or a current Certified Prevention Specialist (or equivalent) and have a minimum of five years of experience working with chemically or behaviorally addicted or at risk populations, or
2. A Masters degree in counseling, psychology, human service, human development, sociology, social work or related discipline and have a minimum of five years working with chemically or behaviorally addicted or at risk populations, or
3. A Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, human service, human development, sociology, social work or related discipline or a clinical doctorate degree (MD or DO only) and at least one year of working with the chemically or behaviorally addicted or at risk populations or as a researcher in the arena of behavior and/or neuroscience.
Note Regarding Academic Credentials:
- Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
- Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard. These positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees.

|Part-Time Faculty Compensation
2018-19 Hourly Rates:
- Lecture $59.66/hour
- Lab $44.15/hour
- Lecture/Lab $48.03/hour
Note: All newly hired Part-time Faculty will start at Step 1
