Job Description:
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Agronomy Department in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will work on research projects that involve various tissue culture/molecular techniques to develop/implement CRISPR technologies and generate gene-edited plants. The work will include plasmid vector design and construction, Agrobacterium transformation and manipulation, plant tissue culture, plant genetic transformation, molecular analysis of transgenic/gene-edited plants, data analysis, generating reports, and publishing manuscripts. 

In addition, this position will assist managing lab operations, including maintaining lab equipment, stocking lab supplies, training and supervising undergraduate student workers, and providing support to graduate students.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Plant Biology or related field. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in CRISPR technology.

Experience in Plasmid vector design and construction.

Experience in Plant tissue culture.

Experience in Agrobacterium -mediated plant transformation.

Experience in Nucleic acid isolation from bacteria and plants.

Experience in Gene editing data analysis.
