About The Position
 

The Project Manager supports the implementation of the research study under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating non-clinical study schedules, directs study activities to ensure on-time completions of all activities and milestones, managing data collection and transfer, and oversight of the grant budget.
 

About The Project
 

MIRROR is a Defense Health Agency-funded collaboratory consisting of over 26 Military treatment facilities and civilian institutions. MIRROR provides critical infrastructure, operational, and research support to advance the treatment and preventive care for Service Members with non-combat related musculoskeletal injury (MSKI) for over 40+ active clinical studies. Headquartered at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) within the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and administered by The Geneva Foundation, MIRROR coordinates interservice partnerships with the primary military treatment facilities, as well as other sites that experience a high volume of MSKI, but lack a strong infrastructure to conduct rigorous clinical and translational studies. MIRROR's clinical infrastructure consists of over 30+ on-site research staff, a fully staffed regulatory/data management/analysis team, engineers, investigators, biostatistical support, and program management. MIRROR engages in a broad scope of projects, including epidemiological investigation, investigator-initiated pilots, and prospective randomized multisite clinical trials. Areas of clinical evaluation comprise general MSKI care process models and highly prevalent anatomically specific (e.g. back, knee, shoulder pain, etc.) targeted interventions with protocols examining effective return-to-duty activities. Results of these studies generate evidence-based approaches for future clinical practice guidelines as well as educational opportunities for future military and civilian providers. To date, MIRROR has contributed to approximately 80 high value knowledge products including publications, abstracts, post-operative rehabilitation protocols, education/training courses, etc.
 

Salary Range
 

$85,000-$110,000. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Promotes safety and confidentiality of research participants and records at all times
  • Demonstrates proficiency in performing basic study-related procedures as required
  • Maintains a collaborative research environment between the PI, other site personnel, research participants, The Geneva Foundation, and the funding organization
  • Supports and, where appropriate, directs the following research activities
  • Prepares research study reports to include awareness of regulatory submission process
  • Executes and maintains research study under the direction of the Principal Investigator
  • Manages study documentation (paper and electronic formats)
  • Subject recruitment, enrollment, consenting and follow-up communications, supports, executes, and monitors human performance testing with clinical systems
  • Maintains documentation of all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research
  • Procures supplies and equipment as authorized per research budget guidelines
  • Coordinates and schedules study subject groups and individual interviews to include scheduling of available office space/training rooms, access to work areas during and after hours, and preparation of any equipment necessary for data collection
  • Maintains research study administrative, logistical, technical, and data management functions, following proper security measures where appropriate
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Project Management Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management required
  • Minimum of 5 year’s research experience required
  • Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software
