Assistant or Associate Professor Tenure Track

Job Description

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Indiana University School of Medicine (https://medicine.iu.edu/departments/pharmacology-toxicology) is accepting applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. We seek outstanding scientists who will bolster our diverse research portfolio, adding to our strengths in neuroscience (neurodegeneration, drug abuse, neurotoxicology, ocular neurobiology), cancer biology, and infectious disease. Of special interest are those working in drug or drug target discovery, especially novel approaches in targeted protein degradation, cell and gene therapy, biologics, and/or immunotherapy. Candidates conducting cutting-edge research in any of these areas and employing state-of-the-art methods in biochemistry, cellular signaling, or epigenetics and gene expression are especially encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants are expected to have a proven track record of major extramural grant funding, and participation in teaching pharmacology-based courses to graduate and medical students. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D., have at least three years of postdoctoral training, and demonstrate an impressive record of productive and high-quality research. Academic credentials and existing extramural grant support will determine faculty rank. Highly competitive start-up packages are available including ample laboratory space.

The scientific environment at the School of Medicine and in the Department is highly interactive and productive with ties on campus to other Basic Science and Clinical Departments, as well as Research Centers and Institutes. Outstanding core facilities are also available.
