Job Summary

The Memory and Concepts lab seeks to hire a postdoctoral researcher for NIH-funded projects (https://reporter.nih.gov/project-details/10188803). The lab is situated within the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences under the direction of Dr. Alexa Tompary. Responsibilities include designing and implementing psychology experiments; methods include online and in-person behavioral experiments, fMRI, and/or TMS. The candidate will work closely with Dr. Tompary, and there will be opportunities to learn advanced statistical analysis in cognitive neuroscience, mentor other lab members, and gain experience writing grants.

Essential Functions

  • Implement fMRI and/or TMS experiments from start to end: including design and behavioral piloting, data collection, analysis, and publication.
  • Write research protocols for experiments and contribute to lab wiki and other documents.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Neuroscience, psychology, biology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in neuroscience, psychology, biology, or a related field.
  • Programming skills (e.g. R, Python, or Matlab)
  • Experience with design of psychology experiments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Analysis of fMRI experiments (e.g. FSL)
  • Promising publication record
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team setting toward a common goal
