Position Highlights The Pyun Laboratory in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry-Sci. at the University of Arizona is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate I to conduct independent research in the areas of polymers and materials chemistry. The chosen candidate will report directly to Dr. Pyun. This a one year appointment with a possibility of an additional year based on performance and funding.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform individual research in the synthesis, characterization, and application of polymers, organic materials, and nanocomposites.
  • Complete training on all instrumentation/techniques in Pyun Lab and ensure that proper training is provided to new researchers in the group.
  • Mentor other postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduate students in the group on all aspects of chemistry (synthesis, characterization, theory, instrumentation training, paper/grant writing).
  • Manage all projects in the group that will result in secondary authorship on all papers directed under applicant.
  • Demonstrate commitment to support and engage in campus diversity efforts.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, or Polymer Science by time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4 or more years experience in polymer chemistry and polymeric materials research.
