Job Description:

The University of Florida College of Nursing PAILTO (Personalized Approach to Improve Liver Transplant Outcomes) study seeks a full-time (1.0 FTE) Post-Doctoral Research Associate. The candidate will be working with an interdisciplinary (and inter-institutionally) team led by Dr. Pruinelli (https://nursing.ufl.edu/profile/pruinelli-lisiane/ ). The position will require collaboration with other faculty, scientists, and health professionals across the UF campus and other institutions in US on the design, coordination, and implementation of informatics and data science projects with the incorporation of causal inference.

The postdoctoral research associate is expected to utilize real-word healthcare data, from single and multi-centric sources, develop and apply data science methods including machine-/deep-learning methods, and implement causal inference for AI applications.

The position will be funded for 1 year, with an opportunity to renew for an additional year based on performance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Construct analytics datasets for research.
  • Design and implement data processing and analysis infrastructure.
  • Implement machine learning, statistical, data-mining, bioinformatics/clinical informatics algorithms for predictive analytics.
  • Design and implement experiments to evaluate and quantify the causal effect of adaptive interventions.
  • Create documentation for all codes and experiments developed.
  • Write or help prepare technical reports and/or publications.
Expected Salary:

$56,484 annually, commensurate with experience level and in accordance with current NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines

Minimum Requirements:
  • PhD in Computer Science/Math/Statistics/Informatics or related technical discipline
  • Experience with Python or R
  • Experience with SQL or other database technology
  • Experience writing code for complex computer programs independently
  • Experience with linear algebra, machine learning, and statistical methods
  • Demonstrated/documented strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with messy real-world data and time series data
  • Experience in high-performance computing
  • Experience working independently in a rapidly changing scientific environment
  • Skills in data visualization
  • Research experience in statistics/data science/related fields
  • Research experience with causal AI
  • Research experience for fairness and unbiased AI models
  • Experience publishing scientific papers in conferences/journals
