Summary

Zero to Thrive is currently seeing a Research Assistant to support various projects within our organization. The Research Assistant’s primary task will be EEG administration and data collection.  Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, research coordination, monitoring and conducting EEG scans, assisting in the data collection and participant navigation of behavioral tasks during study visits, data analysis, and data entry. The ideal applicant would have an understanding of EEG administration and be able to conduct research study visits independently.

Responsibilities*

Primary Responsibilites will include:

•    The candidate will be responsible for coordinating lab visit assessments across participants, staff members, and space availability, obtaining informed consent and conducting EEG assessments at lab visits.
•     This candidate will work with the project coordinator to communicate EEG lab visit scheduling to participants.

Other tasks may include: 
o    managing databases
o    coordinating data collection
o    communicating reportable incidents to Project Coordinator for IRB submission
o    managing participant compensation
o    conducting other qualitative or quantitative data collection as needed
o    providing childcare during study visits
o    data entry
o    other research assistant tasks as needed

Required Qualifications*

•    Bachelor’s Degree and at least six months of research experience preferably in maternal or child mental health. 
•    Must be exceptionally detail oriented as EEG administration requires adherence to strict protocols.
•    Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to quickly build rapport and make participants feel comfortable is essential. 
•    A successful candidate would be highly flexible and able to adjust to changes as needed.
•    Ability to work well in team environment and independently. 
•    Some flexibility in schedule is necessary for the role, including weekends and evenings.

Desired Qualifications*

•    Experience conducting clinical research studies required, including experience working with teams to implement study protocol during clinical study visits. 
•    Experience or proficiency in: 
o    EEG administration 
o    Data management, including reporting and analysis
o    Study management are strongly preferred.
•    Knowledge of IRB requirements including reporting and data sharing processes.

Work Schedule

20-30 hours per week M-F, 9-5 with flexibility to accommodate participant needs outside of these hours, including evenings and weekends.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

In addition to the screenings indicated above under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
