Description

The Implementation and Health Services Research group at the University of Chicago's Department of Surgery seeks a Research Assistant Professor whose primary activity will be academic research in association with faculty members, trainees, and the team.

The goal of the Implementation and Health Services Research group is to use rigorous health services and implementation research methods to examine and tackle high-impact issues related to access, equity, workforce, cost, policy, and quality of care. In addition, the group acts as a collaborative to provide mentorship to faculty and trainees in implementation science and health service research.

The appointee will contribute to implementation and health services research projects in the field of surgery, as well as develop their own research portfolio to be supported by independent funding. We especially welcome applicants with experience in surgical research. In addition, the candidate will be expected to submit for a career development award (K award). The candidate should have experience in biostatistics, qualitative and mixed methods, and health services research. Publication record and ability to obtain extramural grants will be considered.

Applicants must 1) have a doctoral degree or equivalent 2) have completed postdoctoral training or equivalent prior to the start of employment.
