We have several postdoctoral positions available for immediate appointment on the Lung Biology & Pathobiology T32 Training Grant. Along with support for state-of-the art research training, this program provides stipends at NIH-designated levels, funding for conference travel, and (new this year) childcare reimbursement. Please note, these positions can also support recently graduated PhD students who are staying for a minimum of 9 months to finish up current projects/papers. Support may be renewed for up to 3 years.

Qualifications: A trainee’s proposed research project should be related to at least one main theme of the training grant (regenerative medicine, stem cell biology, novel approaches to treating inflammatory diseases, drug discovery, nanotechnology, cell mechanics, genetic model of disease, and Covid-19 therapy). If you are unsure if a project is related, please don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss. Outstanding trainees who were appointed previously on another training grant are still eligible as long as they have not maxed their T32 appointment time (3 years for postdoctoral trainees, 5 years for predoctoral trainees). Due to NIH regulations, candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents.

To Apply: For fullest consideration, qualified candidates should submit their curriculum vitae or NIH Biosketch and a one paragraph project description to amutso@uic.edu . If mentors are not part of the T32’s training faculty, please also provide an NIH Biosketch of their faculty mentor. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.
