Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Online Communications, the Digital Communications Strategist is responsible for website management, technical support, and web analytics. They must have strong interpersonal skills, work well with others, and communicate professionally with colleagues and the University community.

Essential Functions

  • Works closely with Associate Director of Online Communications to develop new training material for university web editors.
  • Attends and assists with CMS training with Associate Director of Online Communications on a monthly basis.
  • Provides client support during and after training sessions to assist with web inquiries and to provide mini training sessions.
  • Provides support and training to faculty, staff, and students as needed for SiteImprove (web-governance tool), Jadu, and Terminalfour (CMS).
  • Serves as a project manager and takes initiative throughout the full lifecycle of projects.
  • Reviews web analytics and provides metric reports to clients so they are aware of website performance.
  • Liaises with the Creative Services team to select images for the web; crop and resize images in Photoshop as needed.
  • Corresponds and collaborates with faculty, staff, and students regarding web updates via phone, email, in-person, and screen share.
  • Actively participates in team and client meetings and remains informed on the status and progress of web projects.
  • Oversees training and assignments for student workers.
  • Informs clients on the best web practices and accessibility guidelines to ensure ADA compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. in Communications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in digital communications including website management, HTML, technical support, web analytics, and Photoshop.
  • Experience with HTML, WordPress and other Content Management Systems (CMS), Photoshop, Analytics, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of modern design trends and approaches as a way to problem solve in regards to layout.
  • Familiarity with web communications best practices.
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance.
  • Excellent time management, customer service and support, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills in order to assist colleagues and the University community.
  • Capacity to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize projects to stay on top of workflow and strict deadlines.
  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

Minimum Starting Salary: $63,500

Maximum Starting Salary: $75,000

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
