Assistant Director, Development

Pay Range: $46,072 annually or higher depending on experience

FTE: 1

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:
The assistant director of development is responsible for developing and expanding philanthropic investment opportunities for the university. Specific responsibilities include management of an assigned portfolio; the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual donors and prospective donors; strategic donor engagement including an emphasis on substantive, strategic appointments; proposal development; identification and solicitation of annual leadership gifts (defined as gifts of $2,500+) from individuals. This position is a key member of the Advancement development fundraising team and works collaboratively to achieve fundraising goals for the university.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
    • One year of experience in outside sales, marketing, public relations, development or other work experience which involved direct contact with clients, customers, prospective customers, and members of the public.

  • Provide high quality services in a cost-effective manner and to recommend improved methods of performance.
  • Work under pressure and with continuous interruption’s.
  • Familiarity with database computer systems and applications, preferably with customer relationship management systems.



Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • The ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move publications and/or meeting/event materials weighing up to 50 pounds on occasion.
