There is particular interest in searching for an established investigator in the field of neuromodulation targeting the spinal cord injury and brain. This person will be an expert in spinal cord injury research and conducting clinical studies and trials using the latest strategies for activating neural pathways to promote circuit function. In addition to Deep Brain Stimulation and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, new advances have recently been made in activating spinal circuits using epidural and transcutaneous stimulation and hypoxia, with encouraging results. Established programs are led by nationally and internationally recognized leading experts in neuroscience, cell biology, and biomedical engineering. Miami Project faculty hold academic appointments across multiple departments, including the Department of Neurological Surgery. A departmental appointment will align with the candidates’ interests and academic fit. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or M.D. and have an outstanding record of scholarly publications and a strong history of extramural funding with exceptional promise to translate new treatment strategies to our patient populations successfully. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and credentials. This position is a full-time, continuing appointment. The position is now open.
