Research Assistant Professor - Neuropsychology

Job Description


The Department of Neurology in the University of Virginia School of Medicine/UVA Health is seeking applicants for a full-time assistant professor, tenure-ineligible position. The appointed faculty will conduct clinical neuropsychological research, with at least part of their research program devoted towards increasing our understanding, and care, of patients with neurodegenerative disease and their families/caregivers. They will function as part of a research team and may lead independent projects and participate in collaborative, multidisciplinary projects, particularly in support of the Virginia Alzheimer’s Disease Center.

Candidates must have a PhD, in Clinical Psychology, from an APA accredited program and completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology by the position start date. An academic track record of first- and co-authored publications,  previous history of external funding, and prior experience facilitating multi-disciplinary research across departments is preferred. This position may be eligible to convert to tenure-track in the future, consistent with SOM Promotion and Tenure guidelines and candidate qualifications.

This position will remain open until filled.  This is an Exempt level, benefited position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
