Tusculum University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Professor/Instructor of Mathematics. This is a full-time faculty position with primary responsibilities in teaching both upper level and remedial Mathematics and Statistics courses in the department of Mathematics and Computer Science, service to the University and community, and scholarly works/professional development. Additional responsibilities include student advising, and assisting the department chair and college dean. Faculty members are to be committed to excellence in teaching and to contribute toward the good of the University through the maintenance of expertise in the discipline, and sharing time and talents with the larger University community.

Applicants are required to possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, but a PhD is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include experience in GIS and R programming, online teaching, and online learning management systems such as Moodle. The successful candidate must possess strong communication and organizational skills; the ability to work independently and collaboratively and make value judgements; and the ability to exhibit a high degree of tact, energy, and resourcefulness in dealing with a variety of situations and people.
