OPS Research Technician

Job Description:
  • Responsible for administration of laboratory, greenhouse and field experiments, including propagating plants and insects, maintaining greenhouse and field experiments, collecting biological samples, and conducting biological and chemical assays in the lab.
  • Conduct data collection, data entry and management, and related tasks to ensure reproducibility of data.
  • Coordinate with project PI, postdoctoral researchers, and supervise students to complete duties and project goals.
  • Maintain proper function of and organization of the laboratory, including maintaining laboratory equipment, developing and organizing SOPs, preparing reagents and chemicals, ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of the laboratory, among other duties.
  • Conduct safety-related tasks and trainings.
Expected Salary:

$18.00

Minimum Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in biology, ecology, or related field.
  • Some lab or field experience in ecology, entomology or biodiversity conservation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and similar software.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of biostatistics, including the statistical program R
  • Enthusiastic about working outdoors as part of a team under a range of conditions.
