YesJob Summary
Provide part-time clerical and research support for a study on Digital Equity for Utahans with Disabilities. The research will survey the digital access needs of individuals with disabilities and will collect data related to digital access barriers and opportunities. The research study is grant-funded by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, and coordinated by Dr. Melissa Helquist, Professor of English, Linguistics and Writing Studies.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintains up-to-date files and records of research data
- Assists researcher in the preparation of presentation materials by creating slides, charts, graphs and handouts
- Compiles data from a variety of sources including surveys and focus groups
- Assists with scheduling appointments, visits, and meetings
- Assists with research correspondence, producing printed materials, and compiling reports
- Complete training for Human Subjects Research
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma plus six credit hours of college or equivalent job-related technical experience. Comfortable learning new technologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in/ knowledge of disability and accessibility
- Successful completion of ENGL 2020
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Creative, flexible and open-minded

- Interest in developing research and data management skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
Special Instructions
- Work activities will be completed remotely and in-person at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus.
- Schedule is flexible.
- The position is short-term, with a maximum of 200 hours. All work activities must be completed by July 30, 2023.
