Job Summary
The Dynamic Brain and Mind Lab of Dr. Kucyi (kucyilab.com) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead and contribute to research projects on the neural bases of spontaneous thought and mind wandering in relation to mental health. Research projects involve advanced human neuroscience techniques, including simultaneous EEG-fMRI, real-time fMRI, and intracranial EEG. The postdoc will work closely with the principal investigator, research coordinators, and other members of the lab. The postdoc is expected to develop and lead independent research, contribute significantly to ongoing EEG-fMRI and real-time fMRI studies in the lab, perform data collection, set up computational pipelines for data processing and analyses, supervise junior trainees, and prepare presentations, manuscripts for publication, and grant proposals. This is an anticipated 2-year position that may be extended if further funding becomes available.
Essential Functions
- Work closely with the principal investigator, research coordinators, and other members of the lab.
- Perform EEG-fMRI and real-time fMRI data collection.
- Process, analyze, visualize, and interpret behavioral and neuroimaging data and prepare write-ups.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, biology, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1- 2 years of experience in related field.
- Strong technical and computational skills, including programming with Matlab and/or Python and experience with machine learning
- Strong background in and ability to implement advanced statistical methods
- A strong record of prior presentations and peer-reviewed publications
- Excellent scientific writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
