The positions will involve working on a variety of grants focused on Telehealth or in-person Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi) in a variety of samples (e.g., adults recently discharged from hospital, older adults in independent living facilities, veterans, active duty military, community). The study will also include a variety of outcomes (e.g., structured clinical interviewing, polysomnography, activity monitoring, biomarkers [blood, sleep and neurocognitive]. The primary duties include project management, providing CBTi, research assistant mentorship, generating and testing hypotheses using numerous large datasets from current and past projects, and writing manuscripts and grants.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the development and testing of two web-based provider trainings: One for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Nightmares and one for Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention.
  • Conduct Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Assessments to protocol patients (e.g., CAPS-5).
  • Provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi) and related therapies to protocol patients.
  • Contribute to report writing for funding sponsors and to writing academic publications (approximately 6/year) and presentations targeting top tier journals and conferences.
  • Help coordinate the activities under the grant(s), making sure that project deadlines are met including the submission of project reports and development of project presentations. This may include oversight of graduate and undergraduate research assistants for all stages of the process (recruiting participants to cleaning of physiological data and maintaining a secure, organized database).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated the ability to work independently, have self-initiative, attention to detail, and self-motivated with strong aptitude for teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidates must have received a PhD in Clinical Psychology or a related field (e.g., experimental psychology, social work, public health) within the past five years (60 months) from an accredited college or University upon hire.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis using SPSS, R, or their equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in the field of psychology and behavioral sleep medicine
  • Demonstrated experience in evidence based treatments for behavioral health
  • A proven publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals and experience demonstrating a high level of productivity
