Job Description

Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 2,400 students annually.

In addition to a 57-acre main campus, CCC has a 60-acre farm used as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. The college also accommodates hundreds of off-campus students through face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.

A number of studies conclude CCC is a solid educational investment. Colby has a strong history of student performance, including the highest graduation rate among all Kansas community colleges.

 

Job Description


Colby Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Math Instructor. This is a nine-month position to begin in August 2023. This position requires a desire and willingness to work with college and high school students and teach in various formats, i.e., face-to-face, online, hybrid, and interactive platforms like Zoom. The candidate will establish and maintain effective working relationships with all students, administrators, and other faculty. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will develop curriculum, assess student learning, participate in program review, and develop and ensure that course objectives and competencies are established, met, and assessed. Participation in various professional activities, such as actively serving on College committees, student recruitment, and student advising are expectations of the position. Must understand the importance of academic excellence, critical thinking, technology, integrity, innovation, and the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic rural setting.

SALARY
Mid-30s to Mid-40s, depending on credentials and experience.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in mathematics or a Master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in mathematics.
  • Postsecondary teaching experience preferred.
