Position Summary | A post-doctoral position is available in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering Department, based at UNC Chapel Hill. The Biomolecular Engineering Laboratory (PI; Professor Koji Sode) is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join our team. The position is fully funded for 24 months (+ possible extension). The Sode lab studies the development of innovative biosensing technologies based on the creation of novel biosensing molecules and proposing/developing practical principles for the detection of target molecules. The position is immediately available. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry), Health Science, or Engineering in a related field. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | -Conduct research projects both independently and with others -Mentor PhD students from UNC/NCSU as well as collaborate with visiting research scholars -Aid in the maintenance of laboratory equipment necessary to conduct research projects -Teach techniques, procedures, and experimental design to other members of the lab -Communicate research results during our group meetings and conferences |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Publishing experience: Candidates must have published a minimum of 1 first-author paper in a high-impact peer-reviewed English-language journal (co-first authors are accepted), and more than 3 peer-reviewed English-language research articles. |
