Postdoctoral Research Associate- Kashatus Lab

Job Description


The Kashatus Lab in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology at the UVA School of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a funded collaborative project on the relationship between mitochondrial dynamics, metabolism and tumor growth in colon cancer. The successful candidate will have experience using murine tumor models and mammalian tissue culture.  Knowledge of mitochondrial biology and metabolism and experience with imaging are a plus.  This project is highly collaborative, and the successful candidate will work closely with systems biologists and other cancer biologists at UVA. 

Minimum Requirements
Education : Doctoral degree
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in tumor biology, mitochondrial biology, or metabolism.

  • Experience with murine tumor models and mammalian tissue culture.

Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
