Other minimum qualifications
An MS degree in Natural Resources, plant physiology or related discipline plus 2 years experience with eddy covariance instruments and remote sensing data analysis involving lidar and optical sensors; ability to climb towers and work at heights of over 100 feet; in-depth knowledge of northeastern U.S. forest ecosystems (including tree physiology and structure, nutrient and water cycling, interactions between forests and the surrounding physical environment); ability to operate articulating boom lifts for work in forest canopies; experience and safety training for tree foliage sampling using 12 gage shotguns; advanced skills with remote sensing and image analysis; experience working with computer models that simulate forest ecosystem processes; ability to develop and implement code in R and Python and to learn new programming languages as appropriate. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also a must.
