SIMPL Project Manager

Summary

Are you looking to use your project management and organization skills to make a difference in the lives of thousands of patients and medical trainees? We are looking for an experienced project manager to join a growing team building the next generation of data, software, and research infrastructure to improve surgery and patient outcomes. At SIMPL you will be a project manager, focused on organizing and prioritizing work on global-scale medical education improvement projects. You will work alongside a team of engineers, researchers, and support staff to coordinate delivery of on-time milestones. We’re looking for creative, enthusiastic individuals who can work autonomously with a high degree of quality and organization.

Who We Are

Organized as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, the SIMPL collaborative now encompasses over 200 medical residency training programs in 20 different specialties in 7 countries, all of whom share a common vision to support continuous improvement in the medical education system. We are a small non-profit that lives within the hiring system of the University of Michigan, which allows our team to have the flexibility of a small company with the benefits package of a global leader in higher education. The SIMPL team is primarily remote and has flexible working hours, ample time off, and a deep culture of learning and improvement.

Responsibilities*

  • Management of multiple projects, resources, and timelines
  • On-time delivery of milestones, reports, and other objectives
  • Reports and communications with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of stakeholder needs
  • Updating project plans and roadmap
  • Contingency planning
  • Coordinating limited resources in an effective way

Required Qualifications*

  • 2+ years of experience in project management
  • A passion for organization and process
  • Experience with project management software 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience using Asana for project management
  • Experience in the medical field
  • Experience with software development
  • Experience with data engineering
  • Experience with Agile Project Management

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

Job openings are posted for a minimum of seven calendar days.  The review and selection process may begin as early as the eighth day after posting. This opening may be removed from posting boards and filled anytime after the minimum posting period has ended.
