Postdoctoral fellowship in epigenetics and post-genomic studies of coronary artery disease associated genetic loci - Stanford University School of Medicine

Our laboratory has recently contributed to large-scale association based human genetics studies that identified coronary artery disease (CAD) risk loci and mapped causal variation and causal genes in these loci (Nat. Comm. 2016;7:12092). To identify epigenetic mechanisms upstream of causal regulatory variation, we are pursuing efforts to annotate the epigenome, employing HiChIP, ATACseq, and novel methods to ascertain mechanisms of altered causal gene expression. Further, to identify the mechanisms by which CAD-associated alleles contribute to disease risk our lab pursues studies that integrate bioinformatics, in vitro cell culture, and mouse genetic models. We are particularly interested in CAD associated transcription factors that are active in the blood vessel wall and are using single cell technologies to characterize the gene regulatory program mediated by these disease factors. We are seeking highly collaborative postdoctoral fellows with experience in the study of transcriptional regulatory mechanisms and cell biology and interest in cardiovascular disease. The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and the Stanford University School of Medicine provide superlative training opportunities at the post-doctoral level in a highly stimulating and interactive environment. To apply, please forward your CV and a personal statement to Trieu Nguyen (trieu@stanford.edu). Stanford University is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty and postdoctoral fellows. It welcomes nominations of and applications from women and minority groups, as well as others who would bring additional dimensions to the university's research, teaching, and clinical missions.
