Who We Are
Project Kitty Hawk is a nonprofit ed-tech startup focused on providing technology and online learning services to UNC System institutions to meet the online education needs of adult learners. Founded in 2022, we are funded by a $97 million grant from the North Carolina General Assembly. We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment, committed to providing the highest level of service to North Carolina.
The Role
The Director of Partnership Success is an experienced relationship manager. You will strategically care for a portfolio of partnerships with North Carolina universities to deliver exceptional results, as well as high-quality partnership experiences and health. You will build new partnerships, and nurture existing relationships.
Our ideal candidate is excited to establish long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationships that help Project Kitty Hawk, and its university partners extend the benefits of public higher education to all North Carolinians . Detailed process management and sharp communication skills are essential. You must be self-motivated, team oriented, and able to pivot in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop trusting relationships and engage with stakeholders to identify opportunities; ensure successful delivery of appropriately customized solutions; and support the health of the partnership.
  • Participate in new partnership and program onboarding by working with an implementation team composed of project Kitty Hawk and university stakeholders.
  • Measure, evaluate, and report on the progress of initiatives, as well as the health of the partnership.
  • Take ownership of challenges and opportunities by recommending strategy changes and solutions.
  • Create business reports and reviews to clearly communicate progress, forecasts, and improvement opportunities.
  • Design and streamline processes and procedures to enable the scalability of Project Kitty Hawk’s partnership approach and capabilities.

What You Bring

  • 5-8 years of experience in management of higher education partnerships in the ed tech/ learning technology field
  • A natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability, and maturity.
  • You care about Project Kitty Hawk’s mission and are committed to helping us create new opportunities for learners across North Carolina.
  • You are driven to care for the partnership and its stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and finding opportunities to make each partnership successful.
  • You approach data with curiosity and willingness to explore why results for each partnership are what they are.
  • You have a knack for navigating change and a willingness to think creatively to solve a problem.
  • You effectively manage ambiguity and are comfortable making decisions without having all the facts.
  • You intuitively know (or know how to discover) what the partnership’s stakeholders care about and how to support their goals, strategic plans, values, and mission.
  • You work constructively in a team.
  • You can communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-Level.
  • Bachelor’s Degree

This position is based in North Carolina. Relocation expenses have not been budgeted for this role.
