The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the IBT-Center for Translational Cancer Research team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate doctoral degree

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in molecular and cell biology research

  • Programming experience in Python, R and/or Linux

  • Ability to conduct independent research and has a strong publication record

  • Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safety without injury to self and others, in compliance with Texas A&M System and TAMHSC guidelines

  • Provide a safe environment that fosters respect, inclusion, and equality of all faculty, staff, students, and visitors

  • Must be literate in the English language and be able to comprehend and follow effectively both written and verbal instructions

Preferred Experience:

  • Two years of relevant professional experience

  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English


Responsibilities:

  • Bench Experiments - Conducts wet-bench experiments and technical procedures: caries out research problems; research literature relation to possible procedures and experiments; modifies procedures to suit the particular research needs.

  • Computer-Based Data Analysis - Uses computer to record observations and measurements, prepare data for analysis and graphs, and obtain original research results.

  • Meetings - Participate in lab meeting within the center and other departments. Participate in joint projects involving the laboratory team.

  • Training - Help with the training of rotational students and new personnel

  • Writings - Assists in writing and/or edits for publication scientific material requiring academic knowledge; researches and catalogs reference materials requiring understanding of subject matter theory.
