Description

 

Possesses, understands, and applies a comprehensive knowledge in area of specialization. Develops understanding and skills to allow for completion of assignments that cross fields of specialization. Develops leadership and management skills. The post-doc will be part of the team supported by an active NSF grant.

  • The candidate will apply machine learning, particularly, deep learning, to the processing and interpretation of geophysical data.
  •  Participate in weekly research meetings with PIs and the graduate students involving in this project.
  • Write papers that detail the research data, methods, and results, and submit them to internationally recognized geophysical journals.
  •  Present research results to the geoscientific community at conferences such as American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting,
  • Assist PIs in reporting progress to NSF, and (6) help PIs develop educational materials to help achieve the educational goals of the project.

Qualifications

 

Doctoral and No experience

Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

The candidate should (1) have a PhD degree in geophysics or closely related disciplines, (2) demonstrate excellence in research through publications in scientific journals, (3) have strong programming skills in Python or similar scripting languages (such as Julia), and (4) have excellent communication and presentation skills

 
Salary: 3,223.00 - 4,834.00
