Job Description:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides a wide range of human resources support and will directly support the Chief Human Resources Officer.  The HR Coordinator will also play a key role in supporting HR transactional processes related to on-boarding and off-boarding, HR/CMS database, producing and analyzing reports, compliance and employee records management, salary administration, training and staff development, benefit and HR policy interpretation as well as information dissemination and participating in special projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organizing, coordinating, and directing the operations and functions of the human resources office.

  • Provides administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer

  • Serves as backup support for Human Resources staff in administering HR processes

  • Assist with the recruitment process including scheduling and coordinating interview search committees.

  • Verify necessary documents and paperwork are complete and received from all new employees and work study students

  • Assist with coordination of new employees orientation program including scheduling of facilitators, set-up and coordinating conference rooms

  • Responsible for completing employment verifications and background checks including CORI/SORI

  • Responding to unemployment requests via state system

  • Assist in gathering sensitive information for grievance process, disciplinary actions and other personnel matters

  • Responsible for preparing a report of bi-monthly personnel actions and information for HR Committee

  • Budget management including tracking and reconciling expenditures as well as serves as the primary point of contact for the Business Office.

  • Ability to generate various reports and analysis including audit reports to verify information

  • Assist with planning and coordinating various HR training programs and events

  • Independently compose confidential correspondence for administrator's approval

  • Responsible for maintaining HR website including communicating information changes to Faculty and Staff Directory to the Marketing department

  • Assist with Affirmative Action reporting and compliance

  • Creates, maintains and manages employee filing systems

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field

  • At least 1-2 years of direct HR experience with general knowledge of basic HR functions (recruitment, employee/labor relations, training and development, and benefits administration)

  • Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects.

  • Ability to interpret, apply and explain polices including state and federal regulations, labor contracts, etc.

  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with senior administrators, faculty and staff

  • Strong level of influence and negotiation skills.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.

  • Able to deliver effective results and meet tight deadlines and targets.

  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.

 

Additional Information:

Please note this is a Full Time position.

The person in this position will work approximately 37.5 hours per week.
