General Description: The Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management (AVP) plays a critical role in coordinating, implementing and evaluating the College's strategic enrollment initiatives (recruitment, retention, and completion). In this role the AVP also oversees the Admissions, Financial Aid, and Scholarship Office functions in a coordinated, collaborative manner to best achieve the college's enrollment management goals and objectives. The primary responsibility of the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management is to implement and maintain a coordinating set of themes and strategies-including the carefully tracking of data-to enhance student enrollment and success at Snow College. This positon reports directly to the Vice President for Student Success.

Major Duties: 
Strategic Enrollment Management Responsibilities

  • Chair the College-wide Enrollment Management Committee and collaborate effectively with key recruitment, retention, and completion management staff and faculty stakeholders to define and accomplish the goals of a five-year strategic enrollment management plan that reflects the College's mission, vision, physical capacity, and resources.

  • Communicate about the strategic enrollment plan and its implementation effectively, frequently, and persuasively with Ephraim and Richfield campus and off-campus constituencies.

  • Engage in an analytical, empirical, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making and facilitate a culture of evidence in recruitment, retention, and completion management in conjunction with Institutional Research and other stakeholders.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment, retention, and completion management policies and procedures and align ineffective policies or practices with national best practices

  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing in developing and executing high impact marketing strategies for the College, especially as related to student recruitment and admissions.

  • Serve as a member of the president's cabinet.

  • Serve on college committees related to student success and completion.

Directing Enrollment Operations Responsibilities

  • Develop and direct comprehensive student recruitment plans/initiatives in collaboration with other stakeholders and in concert with the college's strategic enrollment management plan to enroll a diverse student population including in-state, non-traditional, out-of-state, and international students, while meeting recruitment and admissions targets.

  • Annually assess student recruitment plans/initiatives using metrics and current data.

  • Maintain well-integrated processes and practices in the Admissions, Financial Aid, and Scholarship Offices to maximize efficiency and ensure prompt, courteous, exceptional customer service.

  • Hire, mentor, and hold admissions, financial aid, and scholarship teams accountable for meeting department goals that support the college's mission and enrollment management plan.

  • Lead coordination of enrollment operations efforts.

  • Occasional travel to support college recruitment activities.

  • Provide vision and oversight for the new student orientation experience.


  • Minimum of Master's degree required, preferably in Education, Marketing, Higher Education Leadership or Communications

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership in recruitment, retention, and completion management related work in higher education

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct supervision of professional staff with a demonstrated commitment to professional development of self and staff

  • Experienced collaborator and team leader

  • Knowledge of and experience with strategic enrollment management (SEM) principles and practices

  • Excellent communicator in one-on-one, small group and large group settings

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Significant experience in budget management and personnel supervision

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, evaluating, and improving recruitment, retention, and completion strategies from a data-informed perspective.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with faculty and other Academic Affairs professionals in recruitment, retention, and completion strategies.

  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • A strong commitment to student success, quality service, inclusiveness, collaboration and ensuring the optimal student experience.
