The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Post Doctoral Associate to work on the UHealth Campus. The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community. The postdoctoral associate will be responsible for developing algorithms/software using SIMPLEX meshes (or similar approaches) to simulate (in near real-time) coronary stent or structural heart interventions.

Develop and test real-time software to simulate the coronary stent expansion, using programming codes like MATLAB/Python/C++. The candidate will be part of a team that uses computational simulations, 3D modeling and artificial intelligent (AI) to assist physicians in coronary stent and structural heart interventions. Summarize findings and publish results in research journals, assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory, and provide supervision and guidance to junior technicians, students, and researchers. Maintain computer database of research data, tabulate and display data for presentation in research conferences and for manuscript preparation, use graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data; supervise other personnel in the laboratory to coordinate research efforts for increased efficiency; participate in the training of fellows, residents, students, and volunteer workers as needed. Search pertinent scientific literature as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS   

  • MD or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Solid mechanics, or equivalent field

  • No prior experience required

  • Expertise in programming in MATLAB/Python/C++ highly preferred

  • Strong in mathematics skills

  • Demonstrated experience in computational modeling

  • Fluent in English speaking and good at writing.

  • Strong communication and cooperation in a scientific team.
